We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Marketing and Social Media Executive to join the Pelorus team. You’ll deliver exciting marketing activity and creative content campaigns that strive to raise brand awareness and engagement across all areas of the Pelorus business. This will be a hybrid role, with time spent at our central London HQ and working remotely from home.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this is an exciting opportunity that would involve working alongside all members of the innovative Pelorus team, including our founders. The ideal candidate has a passion for travel, is creative and ambitious with an eye for detail, and is comfortable multitasking on various projects.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily running of our social media accounts, including content creation and copywriting, driving growth and improving engagement
- Will need to develop a thorough understanding of our internal content library and experience using Canva and Later.com
- Community Management experience, including risk management and escalation
- Able to post organic social content every second weekend and monitor for urgent weekend community management
- Creating and sending regular newsletters with our Content Assistant and Digital Marketing Executive, driving improved performance and reach
- Excellent copywriting and editing with very good understanding of spelling, grammar, and written English for both UK and US audiences
- A/B testing and performance tracking to continually improve performance
- Work with Content Assistant and Marketing Manager to develop bold and exciting cross channel brand campaigns throughout the year that cover the Pelorus brand pillars and engage our target audience
- Lead on content creation and design projects with freelance video editors and graphic designers to present our content in innovative ways
- Researching and writing quality stories and articles for our websites including interviews, editorial articles, in-the-press, accommodation and yacht listings with a mind for SEO optimisation
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Day to day management of website content and merchandising
- Monthly campaign and channel reporting via Google Data Studio and in person presentations
- Develop longer-term content marketing strategy
- Manage and expand our image and video library
- Ensure content is on brand and consistent tone of voice
- Support PR activity, sourcing imagery and content for releases and pitching
- Support in event management
- Assist with business development and brand partnerships
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and news
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
- Exceptional copy-writing skills and impeccable attention to detail
- Up-to-date knowledge of main social media channels including new features and trends
- Understanding of our key target markets (UK and US) and how to cater content to these
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of SEO and how it applies to all content formats
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a marketing position within a travel, luxury or yachting business
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in Adobe software important, particularly Photoshop and Lightroom
- Working knowledge of WordPress and Google Data Studio, Asana, Canva and Later.com
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree (or equivalent)
