Aman Venice

The ancestral home of the Arrivabene family, Palazzo Papadopoli was built in the 16th century and has been the site of high-society soirées ever since. Filled with original frescoes and offering an unusual feature for a Venetian home – two gardens – Aman has restored the Rococo and Neo-Renaissance décor to its former opulence.

Enviably located within the San Polo district, you’ll be just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco, making this the perfect place from which to explore this romantic city. Guests usually arrive by boat, the hidden jetty entrance providing a discrete docking area which leads directly into the palazzo’s reception hall.

As soon as you enter Aman Venice, the soaring ceilings and historic artwork set the tone and capture a sense of bygone opulence. This glamour extends to the 24 guestrooms and suites, many with views of the canal. Balancing contemporary décor with historical architectural details, each one is unique and luxurious in its own right.

Ascend the sweeping staircase from the reception hall and you’ll find the Yellow Dining Room. Here, Aman’s signature Italian restaurant, Arva, boasts sweeping Grand Canal views and a ceiling painted by Cesare Rotta. Menus are overseen by Italy’s acclaimed Michelin-starred chef, Davide Oldani, and the dishes are a true love letter to Italy’s culinary heritage (think the best local produce and unfussy cooking with a warm atmosphere).

During the warmer months, the Garden Terrace offers stunning views over the canal, or you can choose to dine alfresco in the hotel’s private garden, with one of the best canal-side spots in the city.

Tucked away on the third level of the garden building, Aman Spa is a secret sanctuary with three single treatment rooms and a small gym with city skyline views. With Asian-inspired wooden accents, it’s more modern than the rest of the palazzo and feels typically ‘Aman’. With a programme of visiting experts and international wellness practitioners, therapies offered include body scrubs, massages and facials.
