Sustainability

Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust is dedicated to training disadvantaged local young people in hospitality, empowering them with valuable skills for employment opportunities. The trust proudly supports Bwindi Bar, which earned recognition as the winner of the PURE 2016 Community Engagement Award. Through collaborative efforts with the local community, the trust also facilitates tea plantations and processing, effectively mitigating 'crop raids' and eliminating human-wildlife conflict. Furthermore, their commitment extends to extensive conservation schemes aimed at preserving the natural environment and biodiversity of the region.

Why we love it

Bwindi Bar, located on the main street in Buhoma, provides a wonderful atmosphere in which to relax and soak up the local culture, while also giving back to the community. A quaint property with stunning views, the venue provides practical hospitality training for young people in the local area. Sample some authentic Ugandan cuisine after a long day in the jungle, or chat to the welcoming staff over a morning coffee and watch the hustle and bustle of the village go by.
