Dating back to 1888, the five luxurious bungalows at Ceylon Tea Trails are nestled in the hills at an altitude of 1250 metres, benefitting from spectacular views across Sri Lanka’s beautiful Ceylon tea region. All rooms are tastefully decorated with a hint of heritage luxury – you can expect four-poster beds and plush furnishings, with many of the suites opening onto verandas and lush green gardens. Guests can book a bungalow exclusively, offering a spacious base for reunions between family and friends. Or book as a couple’s retreat for a remote getaway, yet not lacking in first-class facilities including butler service and a private swimming pool overlooking the countryside.
Start your day in utter luxury with the traditional breakfast in bed, featuring Ceylon tea served to you by your butler. Learn all about the history of the area with an insightful private tour of the Dunkeld Tea Factory, and hike or cycle through the region, discovering mountainous scenery and picturesque lakes. Spot locals picking the tea leaves in the verdant green hills. For those who prefer to relax, book an in-room spa treatment and delight in a cocktail by the pool.
Indulge in an exquisite afternoon tea in the gardens as you admire panoramic views. Or dine on contemporary gourmet cuisine featuring fresh ingredients straight from the garden, paired with wines or teas from the region. Whet your appetite with a Sri Lankan cooking masterclass and learn about the recipes and techniques behind local cuisine. Children can join in with culinary experiences too.
