The Alpage, a sheep herder’s hut-turned- off-piste outpost
Built on top of a tiny French farming village, Chalet Pelerin provides 180-degree views of the surrounding Tarentaise Valley. A remote sanctuary located far off the beaten track, the small mountain hamlet of Le Miroir has only 30 full-time residents. Boasting breathtaking views over snow topped roofs out towards the mighty splendor of the alpine mountains. Evergreens cluster around the back of the chalet as it nestles into the mountainside. With access to seven ski resorts including Tignes and Val d’Isère, there are endless runs and legendary off-piste to explore, ending your day skiing straight to the chalet door. With such close proximity to the Italian border, you will have access to three Heli-ski bases, with runs averaging 1,000 to 2,200 vertical meters. This beautiful alpine mountainside also plays host to a plethora of summer activities with scenic hikes, white water rafting, and adrenaline-fueled via Ferrata.
Built-in a traditional farmhouse style Chalet Pelerin timber and stone frame is truly enchanting. Aglow with the warming light of a flickering fire it is the perfect refuge to recharge after a powder day. Ski straight to the Alpage, an old sheep herder’s hut where staff will carve out a snowbank seating area and serve appetizers around the fire. Immersed in the local cultural food plays an important part in your chalet experience with hearty breakfasts, and warming Savoyarde dishes accompanied by French wines. Indulge in backcountry picnic lunches with a glass of bubbly and fine French cheese. Oozing comfort and luxury throughout the interior this is the perfect place to unwind.
