Sustainability

The Dwarika's Group is moving towards an organic lifestyle that is zero waste incorporating systems such as water re-harvesting, grey water treatment, solar lighting, and recycling of food and other waste within their resorts.

Dwarika's Resort has incorporated a number of sustainable initiatives to support local communities and reduce their carbon footprint. The resort is built using natural materials and traditional construction methods as well as environmentally friendly paints, incorporating their philosophy of respecting nature and self. Dwarika's resort encourages the use of indigenous, natural, and organic agricultural methods and the preservation of the environment within the local community. Design, artefacts, and skills that are inherently Nepali are invested in to help to revive indigenous crafts and cultural knowledge

Cuisine

With a strong focus on nourishment, every meal is produced thoughtfully using seasonal produce sourced from the Eco-Organic Farm or other local farmers. Indulge in Japanese Buddhist cuisine to experience the diet followed by monks in training and enjoy an evening beverage with brilliant 360-degree views of the Himalayas and valley below.

Activities

Chilly evenings go unnoticed as you lounge by the log fire, feeling reinvigorated after a pleasantly mindful day. For further therapeutic experiences, take part in pottery classes, cooking lessons, help out in the vegetable garden and wander the surrounding ‘meditation maze.’

Why we love it

The resort’s ethos is inspired by a blend of Vedic Philosophy and Buddhist medicine whereby huge emphasis is placed on the individual’s well-being. Share memorable moments with a Hindu priest or visiting monk to feel more relaxed, balanced, and positive.
