A hidden jewel nestled in the Yorkshire Dales, Grantley Hall evokes grandeur and luxury. With four stunning restaurants and three bars, there is a multitude of options to nourish and refresh. With comfort foremost in mind, the collection of rooms and suites showcase sumptuous, English elegance with standout original finishes and furnishings. Unwind in the spa, dip into the pool or simply stroll around the tastefully cultivated Japanese garden and kitchen gardens where the chefs pick vegetables and edible flowers for the dishes served at its own Michelin-starred Shaun Rankin, reaching new levels in fine-dining.

Choose from a variety of rooms and grand suites with views over the gardens, fountains, and rivers on the grounds of the hotel. The exquisitely designed, en-suite bathrooms are clad in marble and complete with underfloor heating. An eclectic collection of art covers the walls and the hotel is home to unique tropical flora and atriums full of olive trees. Relax in the sun on the hotel’s numerous terraces and lounges or make use of the unique wine tasting room. If the weather takes a turn for the worse curl up with a good book in the cosy reading room.

Sustainability

  • Grantley Hall has been designed and created to BREEAM standards – this is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for new buildings

  • Recycling – they recycle paper, cardboard, glass, and plastics where possible

  • As part of their food procurement policy, they focus on purchasing items that are delivered in glass containers with a view to reducing our consumption of plastic

  • Grantley Hall has its own water source. Water for the entire estate is sourced from a borehole to an aquifer

  • Food waste is sent to a local recycling plant where it is fermented and is used to generate power for the national grid

  • The area of their external lighting is solar powered thereby reducing our consumption of electricity

  • Electric car charging points are available for both guests and staff

  • The ability to provide staff accommodation on-site reduces carbon footprint as it will help minimise car journeys to and from the hotel

  • Grantley Hall aims to procure food supplies from the local North Yorkshire area where possible, minimising the carbon footprint of food sourcing

Why we love it

Despite Grantley’s Hall’s location in the heart of Yorkshire, the interiors are the height of elegance and luxury. On top of that, the spa is above and beyond the state of the art. There are few other hotels in the world that would allow you to have your bone density scanned or allow you to experience oxygen levels at Everest base camp.
