Located within the west fjords of Iceland, perched upon a remote Icelandic inlet, Hafrahlíð offers front-row seats to the surreal planes of the fjords – from bright green flora cloaking the hillside to the contrast between the black sand beach and the blue sea. And there’s a private black sand beach just a five minutes walk away from the Villa.
Inside, this property has all the hallmarks of classic Scandi style with an open-plan layout and varying shades of grey (think smoky slate floors, soft dove-grey furnishings and a suspended charcoal hearth).
There are four ensuite bedrooms, each decorated in a soft but moody minimalist style with large windows making the rooms feel bright and airy.
The open-plan lounge and dining space boasts floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the incredible vistas, and the fully-equipped kitchen comes with everything you could need to feed a family for dinner or entertain friends. There’s also a separate TV room with two large daybeds and shutters that transform that space into a cosy cinema room.
Outside, there’s a wraparound deck with a sea-facing hot tub and ice bath as well as an alfresco dining table, outdoor lounge area and a barbecue.
