Otherwise, head further into the wildflower-littered hills on foot to pick mushrooms and herbs, or on horseback and let the knowledgeable staff guide you around this beautiful, untouched landscape. Head into the woods and get the chance to meet deer, boar and other forest inhabitants. Or allow the local staff to introduce you to some of the skilled craftsmen in the surrounding areas such as glass makers, wood carvers and cheese makers. In winter experience the hills as a snowy wonderland and travel across them on skis or in a horse-drawn sleigh with the opportunity to have uniquely close encounters with wolves and bears.
