Kenya Lewa Wilderness Main House

Lewa’s main homestead invites you to feel a home-away-from-home in an area of vast African plains where wild animals roam. Wonderfully rustic, wooden features and African-inspired artwork enhance an authentic environment where colourful cushions brighten the comfortable sofas. Settle down to a page-turner from the extensive library of books or delight in luscious garden views from the welcoming veranda.

Nestled amongst the grounds are nine thatched en-suite cottages, each different from the next and all equipped with a toasty fireplace and adjoining sitting room. Capturing beautiful Marania valley views are six hillside cottages, each with a veranda overlooking the river below where animals come to drink. Larger, with two en-suite bedrooms are the garden cottages situated closer to the main area with picturesque surrounds.

Delight in casual dining for breakfast and lunch from the outdoor dining area offering a superb backdrop and fantastic game viewing. For dinner, a delectable three-course meal with a chorus of African sounds to accompany – absolute heaven. In the sitting room, unwind by the warmth of the fire, delve into board games and share stories from your memorable time exploring Lewa Conservancy. It’s a treat in itself knowing you are staying on and contributing to a reserve where the endangered black rhino inhabits.
