Overlooking the abundant grasslands and backdropped by the towering Altai Mountains, the Three Camel Lodge holds a privileged location, far removed from civilisation and surrounded only by untouched natural wonders. Maintaining environmental and cultural values, sustainability is at the heart of the lodge, ensuring preservation of the pristine surroundings and engaging in local projects and initiatives.

The authentic Mongolian gers provide a taste of the traditional nomadic lifestyle that continues to remain in Mongolia today. The lodge boasts 40 individual gers which blend elegantly into the pristine landscape of the Gobi Desert, bringing you close to the heart of nature. Each ger is adorned with hand-painted wooden furniture and local textiles which display the craftsmanship of the local nomads. Complete with an en-suite bathroom, four-post bed and a warming wood stove, these gers provide a cosy stay amongst the harshness of the surrounding wilderness. The lodge’s Bulagtai Restaurant, hosted in an expansive on-site ger, serves authentic Mongolian dishes, created from fresh and organic produce. Try traditional Mongolian hand-made noodles or steam dumplings, as well as, enjoying Mongolian takes on your favourite western meals.

  • First lodge in Mongolia to eliminate all single-use plastic water bottles by providing guests with a reusable metal bottle that can be refilled

  • Developed a comprehensive management program that diverts lodge waste from landfills including paper, bottles and cans

  • Nearly 100% of the lodge lighting is solar powered

  • Actively reducing the lodges carbon footprint by sourcing 50% of the lodge suppliers, services and ingredients within 50 miles

  • Protecting the region’s priceless dinosaur fossils from illegal extraction

  • Supports local students studying traditional Mongolian music and dance at the Gobi Hanhongor School

  • With 100% of staff employed being natively Mongolian, the lodge provides full-time employment and professional capacity to local community members
