MARKETING EXECUTIVE

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Marketing Executive to join our growing team. Based at our central London HQ, you’ll deliver exciting marketing activity and campaigns for our Private Adventures, Yacht Expeditions and Agency teams.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this is a challenging but exciting opportunity that would involve working alongside all members of the innovative Pelorus team, including our founders.

The ideal candidate would be a creative and ambitious individual who’s comfortable multitasking and strives to deliver exceptional work, a passion for travel and adventure are a must too.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Daily running of our social media accounts, delivering regular posts, improving reach, engaging with influencers and increasing our following
  • Creating regular articles for our Elements Magazine, improving the performance and reach of these pieces
  • Manage our image and video library, look to build on this content and ensure we’re using varied and fresh visual content wherever possible
  • Manage design projects, working with designers and our own design tools to create innovative ways to present campaigns and our story
  • Management of our website, its development and its performance, monitoring Google Analytics
  • Create and send regular client and partner mailers, manage and increase our email database and look to improve the performance of emails
  • Own our SEO strategy and look to improve organic ranking for target keywords
  • Supporting in PR activity, sourcing imagery and content for releases and pitching
  • Assist in business development and partnership activity, helping to deliver on several exciting brand partnership opportunities
  • Support in event management and attending trade shows to improve on partner relationships

Personal Specification

  • Strong copy-writing skills and impeccable attention to detail
  • Creative and innovative but comfortable being analytical
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team player who’s also able to work autonomously

Experience

  • At least 1 years’ experience in a marketing position
  • Travel, yacht or luxury background preferred
  • Experience in photo and video editing software or an interest in photography and videography would be beneficial

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent)
  • Additional marketing qualifications advantageous

YACHT EXPEDITIONS PROJECT EXECUTIVE

We are excited to be looking for the latest addition to our expanding Yacht Expeditions team, based in our central London offices. This role would be suited to a creative, organised and detail-oriented person who thrives in a dynamic working environment and has a true passion for helping our clients to discover some of the world’s most interesting locations.

Summary:

  • Working closely with brokers, captains and industry individuals to keep your finger on the yacht sector pulse
  • Planning and delivering extraordinary yacht expeditions and adventures in some of the most interesting and remote parts of the planet
  • Working directly with clients to ensure their needs are met and managing projects from inception to delivery and post trip feedback
  • Working with a fast moving, young, dynamic and highly motivated team

Core responsibilities:

  • Yacht Expedition Planning: creating numerous options and ideas for clients to choose from.  Working closely with Captains, Agents, local authorities and subject matter experts from around the world and ensuring that each detail is thought through to deliver a world class experience
  • Management: as member of the PELORUS Yachting team, reporting to HOD and prepared to work as a key part of a small project team. Ensure high standards of client and supplier communications are maintained
  • Logistics: Full responsibility for all project logistics, including itineraries, contingencies, safety procedures, equipment sourcing and ownership of all aspects of logistics and costing of trips. Ensuring all communications, safety procedures, permits, travel requirements and insurance are in place
  • Project finances: work with HOD to oversee all trip costing to ensure all aspects are covered including contingencies, invoices, payments to suppliers, consultants and relevant third parties
  • Content: jointly responsible for creating new content for the PELORUS website, ELEMENTS and industry publications by sourcing, researching, costing and writing up new sample itinerary trips to demonstrate the breadth of experiences offered by PELORUS to our clients

Personal Specification:

  • Logical thinker with good commercial mind-set
  • Solutions orientated with ability to be intuitive to the client’s needs
  • Creative approaches, not just looking at what has been done before, but going the extra mile to create something unique
  • Strong numerical skills in order to oversee all financial aspects of each project
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and aural
  • Excellent planning and time management, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Must have the right to work in the UK

Essential Experience:

  • Personal knowledge of the yachting sector, whether recreational or professional
  • Experience in logistics, equipment and expedition administration
  • Previous financial responsibility

Desirable Experience:

  • Ex captain, senior crew
  • Good copy-writing skills
  • Design skills – Office and Web
  • Knowledge of route plotters
  • Expedition leader qualifications
  • Project management qualifications
  • Black book of relevant contacts worldwide
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the yachting sector and of planning trips or project management

PROJECT INTERN

Core responsibilities:

  • Project planning: creating numerous options and ideas for clients to choose from. Working closely with suppliers, and subject matter experts from around the world and ensuring that each detail is thought through to deliver a world class experience.
  • Research: Conducting thorough research of locations and potential experiences around the world from the which the project teams can build on.
  • Administration: being partially responsible for company and team administration.

EDITORIAL INTERN

We are seeking an intern with a passion for travel and adventure journalism to work on our fast-growing online magazine Elements. From interviews with record-breaking explorers and yacht designers to gear round-ups and first-person travel features, we have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline for the right, enthusiastic candidate to get involved with.

We are looking for someone who will hit the ground running – ideally someone who has experience in travel and is hugely excited about a future career in journalism. Tasks will include writing, editing, proofing, occasional press commitments, image sourcing, and copywriting for the website. You will be working at the PELORUS office in central London.

Experience in photography and social media are a plus, but not requirements.
