PRIVATE ADVENTURES MANAGER

We are seeking an individual to lead our Private Adventures team, planning extraordinary adventures, experiences and events in some of the most interesting and remote parts of the planet. This person will be responsible for growing the Private Adventures business and team, as well as working closely with suppliers and industry individuals to keep their finger on the experiential travel sector pulse.

Core responsibilities

  • Project planning: creating numerous options and ideas for clients to choose from. Working closely with suppliers, local authorities and subject matter experts from around the world and ensuring that each detail is thought through to deliver a world-class experience.
  • Management: as a member of the PELORUS leadership team, you’ll report to Directors and be prepared to manage a small project team. Ensure high standards of client and supplier management.
  • Logistics: full responsibility for all project logistics, including itineraries, contingencies, safety procedures, equipment sourcing and ownership of all aspects of logistics and costing of trips. Ensuring all communications, safety procedures, permits, travel requirements and insurance are in place.
  • Project finances: work with the Directors, oversee all trip costing to ensure all aspects are covered including, contingencies, invoices, payments to suppliers, consultants and relevant third parties.

  • Strong numerical skills in order to oversee all financial aspects of each project

Essential experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in travel or events and of planning trips and project management
  • Previous team management experience
  • Previous financial responsibility

MEDIA INTERN

We are seeking an intern with a passion for travel and adventure journalism to work on our fast-growing online magazine Elements. From interviews with record-breaking explorers and yacht designers to gear round-ups and first-person travel features, we have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline for the right, enthusiastic candidate to get involved with.

We are looking for someone who will hit the ground running – ideally someone who has experience in travel and is hugely excited about a future career in journalism. Tasks will include writing, editing, proofing, occasional press commitments, social media, image sourcing, and copywriting for the website. You will be working directly with the Editor from the PELORUS office in Shepherd’s Bush.

Experience in photography and social media are a plus, but not requirements.
