Yacht Experiences

ISOLATION IN THE KIMBERLEY

A hidden gem of Australia’s West Coast, the Kimberley offers a completely unique yachting experience. Cascading waterfalls, intricate cave systems and spectacular gorges are surrounded by pockets of lush rainforest and secluded beaches. The Kimberley has fewer people per kilometre than almost anywhere else on the planet with swathes of coast that are so rugged and far from civilisation that a yacht is the only way to experience them.

When to go:
APRIL – OCTOBER

Start your journey by flying into Broome, the southern gateway to the Kimberley, where you will be welcomed aboard your yacht. Enjoy cocktails and dinner al fresco whilst cruising past Cable Beach, famous for its 22 kilometres of pristine white sands. Ride a tender out towards Talbot Bay, where you will reach one of the geographical phenomena of the Kimberley, The Horizontal Falls. Experience the sheer power of this natural wonder as you ride through its tumbling wall of water. For an alternative view of the falls, take to the skies in a private helicopter to appreciate their grandeur from above.

Prepare to scale some of the most iconic rock formations in the Kimberley. Led by an expert Pelorus guide, brave the heights and climb to the summit to be rewarded with breath-taking views over neighbouring islands. Learn the art of barramundi fishing and the secrets behind catching this hard-fighting, high-jumping game. As the evening draws in, your catch from the day will be prepared by your onboard chef in a delicious evening meal and served at a private set-up in a secluded location, far removed from civilisation.

Delve into the past

With a personal archaeologist, you will have a rare opportunity to view ancient aboriginal rock art, some of the earliest figurative art in the world. Learn the history of Australia’s own Jurassic Coast by visiting archaeological sites, home to thousands of dinosaur tracks, with exclusive access to areas that very few have seen before. Set off in the helicopter to explore these sites and magnificent landscapes from above. Land close to the Eagle Falls amid stunning scenery and explore your surroundings, complete with a luxury picnic in a location of your choosing.

Cruise down Prince Regent River, stopping off at various fishing points along the way for the opportunity to catch mangrove jack, bream and threadfin salmon. Alternatively, hike through the national park and marvel at the rare flora and fauna in this conversation area. Trek to the top of the spectacular King Cascades waterfall, where you’ll find an enticing freshwater pool to cool off.

Spectacular Diving & Astounding Waterfalls

Accompanied by a dive master, explore Australia’s largest inshore reef, with 140 square miles of coral. Water cascades from the reef as the tide falls, exposing a glimpse of this underwater world. Here you will encounter an abundance of marine life and come face-to-face with dugongs, reef sharks, stingrays and turtles.

Journey upstream to the ‘jewel in the crown’ – the King George Falls. Anchor at the base of the Twin Falls with an uninterrupted 80 metre vertical drop, where you will find endless places to swim and explore. Take an invigorating freshwater shower at its base, as the water plunges over red sandstone cliffs, or view this astounding spectacle from the air in your private helicopter.
