What We’ve Learnt From Monaco Yacht Show 2023

The conclusion of summer means something different across the world, but for the yachting elite, it can only mean one thing: the Monaco Yacht Show. We reflect on a spectacular event and hear from the team on their biggest takeaways.

Since its inception, Monaco Yacht Show has become one of the most anticipated events in the yachting calendar. From speedboats to submarines and innovative superyacht technology, the iconic Port Hercule shone with a fleet of over 100 superyachts and 50 luxury tenders on display, drawing in thousands of attendees.

The yachts on show represented some of the best for sale on the brokerage market, as well as some of the most highly anticipated new launches. This year, Pelorus co-founder Geordie Mackay-Lewis, along with Director of Yachting Gayle Patterson and Head of Yacht Expeditions Elise Ciappara, were in attendance to showcase Pelorus’ growing yacht division.

“Sustainability is always a focus for Pelorus, and it’s lovely to see the yacht industry innovating and experimenting with new technical processes to offset consumption.

The wide range of electric toys was prominent, in particular the new Manta5 which I was able to test in the water on Sunday. It was also great to see our partners Charge receiving so much interest and see how innovation and sustainable technology are at the forefront of the evolution of the yachting industry.”

Gayle Patterson, Director of Yachting

GAYLE’S FAVOURITE YACHTS ON DISPLAY

BOLD: This luxury expedition yacht with military style exterior offers a great selection of toys and a certified helipad for remote exploration. Chartering in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean this winter, she is a fantastic choice for adventurous clients.

KENSHO: She’s a world superyacht awards winner with an innovative diesel electric propulsion system, soft pure exterior lines, and a contemporary interior that flows seamlessly.

PHOENIX 2: Her immaculate art deco interiors, vast volume, and three jacuzzi pools enrich her world cruising capabilities with a range of 6000nm and two touch and go helipads for glamorous exploration in the utmost of luxury.

SYMPHONY: At 101m, she is arguably the most exclusive and luxurious passenger vessel available for charter. Lunch on board was divine, a gastronomic explosion of fresh flavours served with precision and discretion.

This year’s show was bigger and better than ever and, building on Pelorus’ success at the 2023 event, we’re looking forward to what next year brings. The experiential yachting space is something we’re continuing to pioneer alongside our traditional yachting charters, so the 33rd edition will be an exciting opportunity to continue hosting clients and collaborating with exciting partners, discussing with yacht owners and captains about their plans for the future and broadening the awareness of Pelorus Yachting’s Central Agency division.

Next year we’re excited to revisit this iconic boat show as well as Palm Beach International Boat Show, continuing to establish Pelorus Yachting as a leader in the industry. Our ever-growing team will be able to create a bigger impact at these shows, introducing more people to Pelorus and increasing our book of contacts.
