Location

In the heart of South Island is The Lindis, blending seamlessly into the landscape with its undulating roofs mirroring the mountain range and floor-to-ceiling windows blurring the boundaries between inside and out and providing undisturbed views of the rugged valley.

Residences

Offering two master suites, three luxurious lodges and three glass pods, guests are spoiled for choice with accommodation. The suites and lodges all boast private indoor and outdoor sitting areas, panoramic windows overlooking the Ahuriri Valley and snow-capped mountains beyond, and fireplaces and faux-fur throws to bring in warmth. But for the ultimate in seclusion, opt for one of the self-contained pods with a mirror-like exterior and a private terrace with a hot tub perfect for star-gazing.

Sustainability

The Lindis is heated by solar panels and geothermal energy, rainwater is collected and filtered, and eco-friendly products are used throughout. In the kitchen, the produce used is grown on-site including free-range meat, while all food waste is composted. The water bottles in the guest rooms are made of plant-based plastic alternatives and sent back to the supplier to be recycled.

Why we love it

There are a plethora of activities from The Lindis. The property is located near one of New Zealand’s most renowned fly-fishing areas, so try your hand in the company of expert fishing guides. As well as this, embark on horse treks, cycling or 4-wheel-drive tours, or walk around the many trails that wind around the station. Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park is also a short helicopter ride away for those who would like to adventure slightly further afield.
