INTRODUCING: THE IBIZA SWIM
Following an ambitious and successful row across the Atlantic, Pelorus Co-Founder Jimmy Carroll will be tackling a new challenge in 2024. He’ll be joining forces with five other ocean enthusiasts to embark on a mission to conquer the unchartered waters around Ibiza. From mountain leaders to world record holders and swimming coaches, the diverse team will tackle the sea head-on, swimming in two-hour relays with non-stop movement until they complete their journey. They will swim through the night, taking turns to rest in a support boat accompanying them. Their audacious goal is to secure a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the first relay team to swim continuously around Ibiza.
The team are working to raise awareness and funds for Pelorus Foundation’s dynamic marine conservation projects, with proceeds playing a crucial role in conserving marine biodiversity in the Balearic Sea and supporting coastal community projects addressing rural poverty in Kenya while safeguarding the ocean.
This incredible endeavour showcases a blend of expertise, endurance, and a shared commitment to the ocean’s well-being. Through their remarkable feat, these swimmers hope to inspire others to join the cause of marine conservation. Together, they are setting a powerful example of how passion and action can drive positive change in the world’s ocean.
