Chase the northern lights in Norway
Gain an exclusive insight into the lives of the Sámi reindeer herders and witness the greatest light show on Earth as the aurora borealis dances in the sky above your campsite.
When to go: October – March
- Head out on sleds pulled by huskies to explore the surrounding landscape. You’ll be led by a guide, who will help you track animals. That night you’ll camp out under the northern lights
- Travel by snowmobile to a winter settlement for Sámi reindeer herders who pursue their livelihood here. You will spend the day with the Sámi and join their daily life with their reindeers to get an insight into their way of living and herding. This adventure is a unique privilege made available for only a few people every year
- Take snowmobiles up to a frozen lake to have a go at fishing. Once on the lake you will drill through the deep ice and fish for Arctic Char. A mountain hut heated by an open fire serves as a rest and viewpoint for a fish soup lunch
- Board a small boat and head into the stunning Lyngen fjords for a sea safari. Whilst cruising under the gigantic cliffs of the Lyngen National Park you may spot orcas, humpback whales and dolphins. You will also stop off at Glacier Bay, where you will trek to a frozen waterfall
