Yachts and heli-skiing in Alaska 64.2008° N, 149.4937° W
Alaska is a region of extremes, where vast forests, deep fjords and snow-capped ranges hold whales, wolves and bears. Working with a local boat captain, helicopter pilot and world-class ski guide – whose combined knowledge of the area is unrivalled – we have built an itinerary for the 2018/2019 ski season that is unlike any experience you’ll find within Europe. Or, for that matter, anywhere else in the world.
Landing in Port Valdez, you’ll be driven to the harbour to board a lavish 95ft yacht, which is now able to carry a helicopter thanks to its recent renovation. With six comfortable ensuite cabins, accommodating 12 guests, the boat was a previous research vessel. It has since been converted to match the comfort and warmth of the interior with the rugged exploratory abilities of its exterior. An experienced on-board private chef will have you wanting for nothing, and as you leave the port on your first afternoon it is likely that you will not see another person until you return.
Each night you’ll cruise to a new location, providing a constant change of scenery and making each day different. You’ll climb into the helicopter each morning with your ski guide and head to slope after slope of untouched powder. Their unmatched experience within this wild region enables you to access Alaska’s finest skiing, giving you the chance to carve fresh lines while being surrounded by the most humbling scenery. You may also experience Northern Lights, kayaking and whale watching.
