SENIOR TRAVEL DESIGNER

Antonia Black

Travel has always been a huge part of Antonia’s childhood and family life – spending time between the Kent countryside and school holidays in the remote Scottish Highlands, learning to ski in Whistler, and road-tripping around Australia. Engrained in everyday life, this spurred Antonia to venture to Europe, Kenya and South Africa, before completing a degree in Geography at the University of Exeter.

Following a short stint travelling through Sri Lanka, Antonia moved her life out to Thailand in 2014 to take up a year-long teaching and marketing position at an International School in Bangkok, offering the perfect opportunity to research and explore the rich local culture and region, which she quickly came to adore. On her return, Antonia embarked on her career in the luxury travel industry where she spent almost seven years at a UK-based tour operator, specialising in bespoke travel to Asia, Australasia, and the Middle East. When not travelling, Antonia can be found on the tennis court, or as a self-confessed foodie, exploring fun new restaurants in London and beyond!

Number one unforgettable travel experience?

Without a doubt, this has to be island hopping in the completely extraordinary Raja Ampat Islands in Indonesia, where I scuba-dived with a squadron of giant manta rays on my first dive in 12 years. An incredibly magical and humbling experience in one of the most beautiful and remote locations in the world.

Top of your travel bucket list?

Whilst my list is constantly growing, having never set foot on South American soil, I’m keen to take a deep dive into the extraordinary and diverse Patagonia region. The chance to explore the phenomenal snow-capped peaks and rugged wilderness of Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park by foot would be epic.

Who is your ultimate travel partner?

With a personal passion for photography, I’d love the opportunity to travel with well-established wildlife and landscape photographer, David Yarrow. Yarrow’s approach to capturing some of the world’s most dangerous and unpredictable animals is admirable, and it would be incredible to be able to learn a few tips from the expert on my personal travels.
