On completion of his undergraduate degree in accounting and mathematics from the University of Newcastle, Jonny returned home to Northern Ireland, joining Deloitte as an auditor to complete his chartered accountancy qualifications, and later progressed into management.

During his time there he had the fortunate opportunity to take a year sabbatical to travel the world which, rather than satisfy his desires to travel, strengthened this urge. On his return he spent a period of time working in the group finance team of a global media business before securing the next step of his career with Pelorus, a role that combined his talent in finance and passion in travel.

Number one unforgettable travel experience?  

Island hopping through the Galapagos. A truly unique place with an extraordinarily diverse array of plants and animals largely untouched by humans all within a tightly formed group of islands, hard to beat!

Top of your travel bucket list?

It would have to be backpacking through Central America, I’ve been fortunate to travel parts of North and South America so it would be great to explore through the lifeline between the two.

Who is your ultimate travel partner?

I would have to say Sir Michael Palin. Growing up his travel documentaries were always on in our house on a Sunday evening and his experience, knowledge and general camaraderie would make for some unforgettable adventures.
